Ilmastonmuutos on yksi aikamme merkittävimmistä haasteista. Tulevana keväänä edessä on europarlamenttivaalit, joten liity mukaan keskustelemaan, kuinka Euroopasta voi tulla globaali johtaja ilmastokriisin ratkaisemisessa.
Seuraamme liittyy Bas Eickhout, toinen Vihreistä kärkiehdokkaista tulevissa europarlamenttivaaleissa. Bas on ilmastopolitiikan asiantuntija monen vuoden kokemuksella sekä Euroopan Parlamentista että YK:n ilmastokokouksista muun muassa Kööpenhaminasta, Pariisista ja Katowicesta. Muita puhujia ovat Iiris Suomela, Vihreiden europarlamenttiehdokas ja Tampereen kaupunginvaltuuston varapuheenjohtaja sekä Ville Niinistö, Vihreiden europarlamenttiehdokas ja Vihreiden kansanedustaja Turusta. Muut puhujat julkaistaan myöhemmin.
Tapahtuman moderaattorina toimii Oras Tynkkynen, vara-MEPpi ja ilmasto- ja energia-asioiden asiantuntija, jolla on pitkä kokemus Vihreästä politiikasta. Oras toimii Euroopan vihreiden hallituksen jäsenenä.

Climate change is the defining challenge of our times. Ahead of the European Parliament elections this May, join a discussion on how Europe can become a global leader in tackling the climate crisis.
We will be joined by Bas Eickhout, one of the two green Spitzenkandidat (lead candidates) for the European Parliament elections. Bas is a climate policy expert, with many years of experience both in the European Parliament and in all UN Climate Summits – from Copenhagen via Paris to Katowice. Other speakers are Iiris Suomela, Green European Parliament candidate and Vice Chair of Tampere City Council, and Ville Niinistö, Green European Parliament candidate and Member of the Finnish Parliament. Other speakers will be announced later.
The event is moderated by Oras Tynkkynen, member of the committee of the European Green Party, vice-MEP and an expert on climate and energy policy with long experience in Green Party politics.
